Bird Feeding Station 24/7 Live Stream Birmingham, Alabama
I have always enjoyed being in nature and even before I retired, I started feeding birds on my deck. Well, as many of you know, feeding birds can get messy. After a foray of feeders on my deck and having to perform continuous deck and deck rail cleanup, it was time to move the few feeders from the deck into the back yard. But wait, how would I see the birds I was feeding as main floor was one floor above where I would be feeding the birds and the birds would appear as little flittering dots. The answer were web cams!
My research led me to Scott Keller in Ohio. He patiently walked me through his set-up and invited me to join his network. I did and on October 31, 2019, my cams flickered on YouTube. While technical reasons separated my channel from Scott’s, he and I remain close friends and keep in touch. I am appreciative of his guidance and continuing friendship.

Garden & Critter 24/7 Ground Cam
This project sprung out of my bird feeding station project mentioned above. If I was going to host one cam for the bird feeding station, it made sense to try to also live stream ground feeding birds as well. The ground cam is now integrated into the main bird feeding station cam and cam views switch between both cams.
As most folks that are experienced with bird feeders acknowledge, critters quickly become part of the action. You can either fight them to keep them from eating a large amount of the food offered on the ground or you can graciously accept their presence as another part of our Lord’s divine creation. Besides, they are fun to watch with the up close view! Not only that, daylight action is only half the action. Both the bird cam and the garden cam are also infrared cams that perform day and night action. Given that birds nest at night, nocturnal action continues on this cam, with the stars being raccoons, opossums, eastern cottontail rabbits, whitetail deer, southern flying squirrels (both cams), an occasional eastern mole and field mouse sightings.
